Precision sheet metal fabrication company is now equipped to serve a broader customer base

HUDSON, NH — May 7, 2020: Approved Sheet Metal (ASM), a New Hampshire-based precision sheet metal fabrication company has recently received ITAR certification, and is on track to pass their ISO 9001:2015 certification this quarter.
The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) is a set of government regulations involving defense exports. "To get ITAR certification, we had to lock down the facility and put specific security measures in place on the shop floor," says Steve Lynch, CEO of ASM.
"We're a new company, just three months old, and we had a lot of customers who needed this certification to work with us. We had over 10 customers ask if we were ITAR certified, so we made it a priority," says Steve Lynch, CEO. Now that ASM has obtained the certification, they can obtain competitive defense and aerospace contracts and serve a variety of industries that require ITAR compliance. "We're really happy to be able to serve more customers."
In addition to ITAR, ASM has nearly completed its ISO 9001:2015 certification. ISO 9001:2015 is a quality management standard relating to the people, processes, and technologies within an organization. ASM just completed the first external audit for this certification and is now waiting 6-8 weeks to receive the certificate.
Both certifications are exciting steps in ASM's impressive early growth. Since opening in February, ASM has hired four new employees: a press brake operator, a laser operator, a general team member, and a programmer. They have not yet had a single RMA (returned merchandise authorization), and are continuing to differentiate themselves by how quickly they turn quotes around.
"We make it a practice to respond within an hour to any request. We also keep in regular communication with our customers, giving them a heads-up when shipments are coming, being proactive," says Lynch.
