It's hard to believe 2021 has come and gone. The year flew by for us here at Approved Sheet Metal. We were busier than ever serving our customers and growing our custom fabrication shop.
Today, we’re excited to recap some of our top highlights from the year. Let's go!
Table of Contents
Approved Sheet Metal’s Top Highlights from 2021
1. Acquired Nashua Fabrication
In June, we acquired Nashua Fabrication, a complementary business that expands our list of services and capabilities. This acquisition solidified our ability to fabricate, polish, grind, and finish show-quality tubular stainless steel frames for the pharmaceutical and biomedical industries.
Commenting on this big news, our owner Nick Mercier said, "I'm excited about the opportunity to work with a new customer base and continue to support our current customers in growing their businesses."
2. Moved into a new building
As a result of the Nashua Fabrication acquisition, we relocated our custom fabrication shop to their facility in Hudson, NH.
This move allowed us to rethink the configuration of our shop and optimize our layout to streamline operations. Our team is thrilled to be in our new home, and we hope you'll come visit us soon!
3. Expanded our talented team
In the acquisition, we were fortunate enough to keep Nashua Fabrication’s entire crew of talented employees, increasing the size of our team from 23 to 38 members overnight.
The skill level in our shop is the highest it's ever been, and that's saying something! Like our original employees, the Nashua Fabrication team is a group of highly experienced professionals. Combining such talented people has resulted in incredible cross-training efforts that help us better serve our customers across the board.
Even with this newly expanded team, we’re still actively hiring—a testament to just how busy we are!
4. Invested in an exceptional new fiber laser
We purchased an exciting new piece of equipment that reduces our customers' lead times by as much as 50%.
Our new AMADA 3kW ENSIS 3015 RI Fiber Laser is so fast that it cuts aluminum and steel at 866” per minute. It also affords customers greater design freedom, more material options, and better edge quality.
As we say goodbye to an exciting 2021, we’re confident that these developments will continue to have an enormous positive impact on our customers in 2022.
